Applets
An applet is a modular mini-application running inside TimeCampus. Each applet delivers one focused piece of functionality — time tracking, task management, calendar sync, project management, goal setting — and applets can be combined and configured into the setup that fits how you actually work.
The applet model is why TimeCampus is a platform rather than a fixed app: a freelancer runs the applets that make billing effortless, a team lead runs the ones that make capacity visible, and neither has to accept the other's workflow.
The four-layer model
Applets are the functional layer of TimeCampus extensibility:
| Layer | Role | Docs |
|---|---|---|
| Channels | Data in — connectors that capture activity | Channels |
| Applets | Functionality — modular mini-apps over your time data | this page |
| Widgets | Visualization and control — composed onto dashboards | Widgets |
| Workflows | Automation — triggers → conditions → actions → outputs | Workflows |
You capture from the channels you use, run the applets you need, compose the widgets you care about, and automate the rest.
The applet families
The core applet families map to the functionality you'll find across the app:
| Applet family | What it delivers | Related docs |
|---|---|---|
| Time tracking | Timers, entries, approvals | Timer, Time entries |
| Tasks | Task management tied to your time | Tasks |
| Calendar sync | Calendar-aware capture and meeting context | Meetings |
| Projects | Project management, budgets, billable time | Projects |
| Goals | Goal setting over your time and focus data | Focus score |
The Applets page
Open Applets in the app at app.timecampus.com to see the applets available in your workspace. Applets → Store is where you browse applets to add — the discovery surface for extending your workspace beyond its current setup.
Applets are workspace-scoped and sit under the same access control as the rest of the product: what an applet can do for you is bounded by your role and workspace.
What works today vs. what's rolling out
The Applets page and the Applets → Store surface are part of the app today, and the functionality the core applet families describe — time tracking, tasks, projects, calendar-aware meetings, goals — is live across the app's own surfaces (linked above).
The applet platform — installing and uninstalling applets as first-class units, per-applet configuration, and applets your own team builds on the platform — is still being built. Today the Applets pages are a UI surface over functionality that ships built-in; install/uninstall doesn't yet persist an applet registry.
The marketplace — where builders publish applets, widgets, and integrations and teams discover them — is committed roadmap, sequenced after launch. The Store page you see today is the surface that direction lands on. If you're a builder interested in extending TimeCampus, write to [email protected].
